A.To become a Member, a Candidate must be sponsored by two GYC Members. First you apply as an Associate member and then once approved you can apply to be a full member. Your sponsors will need to sign the Associate Application form before it is submitted to the membership committee.

Q. How long does the Associate Application process take?

A. Once received, the Associate Application must be posted on the clubhouse bulletin board for 7 days prior to the next board meeting. The applicant and the sponsors must appear at this meeting. The Board will not vote on the application if such representation does not occur.

A. If you are active in boating and get involved in the local boating activities most likely you will meet some one that is a GYC member and they can introduce you to others – “start asking around.” Social Media, such as Facebook or LinkedIn can help provide connections based on employers, professional associations and others within your network. If you are interested in racing – Come on out and join us for Wednesday Night Sailboat Racing at the GYC. The membership chair can help introduce you. The Skippers’ Meeting is in the GYC clubhouse at around 17:30 hours. We try and start the race around 18:30 hours.

Q. What is the GYC’s billing period ?

A. The GYC Annual Dues year runs from November 1st to October 31.
